Welcome and thank you for visiting us here online.
We also hope you have an opportunity to visit us sometime in person at GarLyn Zoological Park on US-2 across from Lake Michigan in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. You will need Quicktime Player to view the video and can download it from the link below if you need to. Our web pages will show you some of the animals at our zoo including both native animals like, black bear, wolves, bobcat, whitetail deer, cougar, river otter, raccoon, skunk and exotic animals from around the world, wallaby, patagonian cavy, ring-tailed lemur, reindeer and many more. We hope you find our web pages and the zoo both entertaining and educational.. GarLyn zoo was started in 1994 so 2008 will be our 15th year of operation. The zoo blends well with the natural surroundings of the upper peninsula. For the most part the zoo has been built by hand and most of the trees and the terrain have been left as nature intended. At the present time the zoo covers about 10 acres of the 30 acres that it sets on. For most, it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to enjoy but you can stay as long as you like. To give you a feel for the zoo and the type of area the animals are in, here is a look down a couple of the isles at Garlyn Zoo. The zoo is built in a natural park-like setting with cedar mulched trails to walk on as you pass under mature pine trees towering 60 to 80 feet above you. No concrete jungle here! As you look down the isle in the picture below the Wolves and Black are on the left the Cougar and Bobcat are on the right and the Emu are straight ahead.
Take a panoramic tour of the zoo.
