Free kids day 2006 was held on August 5th and was a big success. About 180 kids received free admission to the GarLyn Zoo as well a played games won prizes and got free balloons. April Lake and Big Country 102.9 was on hand and provided the games and prizes.

 Mackinac County Sheriff performed around 50 child identification fingerprints and I.D. kits.

 Mackinac County Animal Control and Animal Shelter were also able to place 2 dogs in good homes that day while at the zoo.

Free kids day was such a success that we are planning on it being an annual event. If you have any ideas or suggestions for activities for this type of event, please let us know. Keep checking for information on 2007 Free Kids Day.
